Every FBS team opens the season holding the counties closest to its stadium. Win, and you take everything the loser holds — home soil and conquests alike. Lose everything, and the only way back is beating somebody who still owns dirt. Louisville is currently landless. Concept by u/nbingham196. Through Sep 26.

Counties seed to the nearest FBS stadium by great-circle distance to each county's geographic center. A landless loser gives up nothing. FCS and lower-division teams can raid their way onto the map — and land captured downward can stay there all season. Neutral-site overseas territory is not yet in play.
